Think of one “hard thing” God has asked you to do—something you’ve been avoiding, questioning, or struggling with. Don’t just try harder. Pray for greater faith. Ask God to help you trust Him enough to obey and act!
Jesus teaches His disciples some hard things. He tells them to forgive—not just once, but repeatedly—even if someone sins against them seven times in a single day and asks for forgiveness each time (Luke 17:3–4). That kind of radical forgiveness isn’t easy. It’s not natural. It’s supernatural.
They immediately realized that the kind of obedience Jesus was calling them to couldn’t be done in their own strength. It would take faith—faith not just to understand, but to follow through, especially when it hurts, when it’s inconvenient, when it feels impossible.
The disciples didn’t ask Jesus to make the commands easier. They didn’t ask Him to change the situation, because God doesn’t always do it. They asked for more faith—because faith is what enables us to trust that His way is better, even when it’s hard.
PRAYER FOR TODAY:
Lord, increase my faith. You’ve called me to hard things—things I don’t always want to do, things I don’t fully understand. But I trust You. Even when you won’t change IT, use IT to change me. Give me the faith to obey, especially when it’s difficult. Help me to forgive, to serve, to love, and to follow You fully—even when the cost is high. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
