GENERAL STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing Creator-God who fashioned His universe, in the image of His own Heavenly realm. We believe He then placed humans, made in His image.
We believe that human pride led them to attempt to usurp God’s authority as Ruler of the universe, and in consequence both humans and the universe have been corrupted and damaged, and that we are condemned to be destroyed.
We believe that God, in His omniscience, anticipated a rebellion, and had already formed a plan that would redeem humankind and the scarred universe. This plan would evolve through a chosen servant (Abraham), a chosen nation (Israel), a body of divine law, a series of divinely-controlled tribulations, a message proclaimed by chosen prophets, a personal visit to the earth by God’s own Son, His death and resurrection.
We believe that God requires a total stewardship of our personal selves, our time, our gifts, and our treasure; our families and any friends we may influence to join us in His holy work; He expects that total stewardship to call us to personal piety and to social action. We believe that He wants to use us in sanctuary and in market-place, to preach conversion and civic justice, as church members and as professionals or students or homemakers, as total servants bringing a total message to the total human condition. We believe that we are privileged to be partners with God in the redeeming of the damaged human race and the bruised universe.
True Vine Christian Center is a Bible teaching, Bible believing & Bible living church. We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter.
The Trinity (Tri-Unity)
God has existed in relationship with Himself for all eternity. He exists as one substance in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves a different function, each possesses equal power and authority.
THE FATHER
God is great: He is all powerful, all knowing, ever present, unchanging, completely worthy of our trust, and above all, holy. It is in Him that we live, move and exist. God is good; He is our Father. He is loving, compassionate, and faithful to His people and His promises.
THE SON
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He’s completely human and completely God at the same time. He is the only plan for bringing people who are far from God back into a right relationship with God. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He defeated death in His resurrection so that we could have life. He ascended to Heaven’s glory and will return again to reign as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
His presence assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin and reminds us of God’s righteousness and the coming judgment. He comforts us, gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. .
The Diety of Christ as Savior & Lord
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, bodily resurrection , and ascension unto the right hand of Almighty God is the cornerstone of our faith. We also believe that His all-sufficient power and atoning blood saves and cleanses us, through confession and repentance of sin, and faith in Christ Jesus alone. We believe that in Jesus Christ lies the fullness of the Godhead bodily. He is fully God and fully man.(John 1:1; Luke 1:35; Matt. 28:6; Acts 7:55; Heb. 9:14; Rom. 10:9,10)
Non-Denominationalism
We believe that God is coming back for one church. We believe that one is saved through the finished work of Calvary and not their denominational affiliation. We believe that there are true believers in Christ all across the denominational spectrum.
Baptism
We believe that baptism is a sacred ordinance instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ, commanded for all believers as a public testimony of faith in Him. Baptism is an outward symbol of an inward transformation—signifying the believer’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
We affirm that:
-
Baptism is for those who have personally repented of sin and trusted in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
-
It is an act of obedience, not a means of salvation, but a declaration that salvation has already taken place through faith in Christ.
-
The biblical mode of baptism is by immersion, which best represents the believer’s death to sin and resurrection to new life in Christ (Romans 6:3–5).
-
Baptism is to be administered in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, as commanded by Christ (Matthew 28:19).
-
Baptism marks the believer’s entrance into the visible body of Christ, the Church, and reflects unity with the global community of faith.
While baptism itself does not save, it is a joyful and necessary step of obedience for every disciple of Jesus, expressing love for Christ and submission to His lordship.
