A Special Request for Prayer and Fasting

Dear Beloved Family,

It is with a humbled heart that I come to you not just as your pastor, but as your brother in Christ who is in need of your prayers. Over the past few months, many of you may have noticed or heard me mention a persistent groin injury that I’ve been battling. What we initially believed to be a strain has unfortunately not improved with time — in fact, the pain and discomfort have worsened beyond just everyday, strenuous activity and become more persistent and painful.

After further evaluation and a referral to a urologist last week, new concerns have come to light. During my recent visit, they noticed swelling in my lymph nodes and identified a spot that raised concern. This spot is familiar — it was first discovered in 2021 and was, at the time, monitored and determined to be harmless. However, it has now reappeared, accompanied by a series of changes in my body — including my digestion, eating patterns, and other more personal symptoms that I won’t go into detail about.

Because of all this, doctors are taking extra precautions as I undergo a series of tests this week to rule out any serious conditions; especially after I have now discovered that these issues are consistent with hereditary conditions on my paternal side of my family starting as young as my age.

While we are praying and believing that it is nothing more than an infection or inflammation, one of the possibilities they are carefully checking for is cancer as we’ve started to check off too many boxes for comfort.

I don’t share this to cause alarm but because I believe in the power of prayer and the strength of community. This Wednesday, I am asking all who are willing to join me in a day of prayer and fasting. Not just for my physical health, but for peace, wisdom for the doctors, and strength for no matter what lies ahead.

As your pastor, I’ve had the honor of praying with many of you through your valleys. Today, I simply ask for you to stand with me in mine. I am trusting God through this process, believing that He still heals, still speaks, and still carries His people.

Thank you for your love, your prayers, and for walking with me in faith.

With love and hope,

Pastor Jhontre Green
